Four partners found Tower Tech Systems, Inc. and Tower Tech Holdings, Inc. in Manitowoc, Wis.
2004
Tower Tech completes fabricating sections for Clipper Wind Power and begins serial production of 2-MW-class towers for Vestas.
2005
The first tower built by Tower Tech, a four-section tower, is erected in March 2005 at the Medicine Bow Project in Wyoming. It supports Clipper Wind Power’s very first 2.5 MW commercial Liberty® turbine.
2006
Tower Tech secures a serial production order for a new customer, Gamesa Wind US, and a repeat order for Clipper Wind Power. The sections are delivered to project sites in the United States and Canada.
2007
Tower Tech begins an expansion at its Manitowoc plant.
Tower Tech manufactures tower sections for Clipper Wind Power and Gamesa Wind US.
Tower Tech delivers its 200th tower.
2008
Tower Tech’s parent company, Tower Tech Holdings, becomes Broadwind Energy, Inc.
The Broadwind Energy Board of Directors approves an aggressive 18-month expansion plan for Tower Tech, beginning with construction of new wind tower manufacturing plants in Sioux Falls, S.D. and Abilene, Texas.
